AbdullahBaysal

Naval Architect and Marine Engineer

Born in Kahramanmaraş, Abdullah Baysal completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown. Throughout his higher education, he took an active role in numerous social responsibility projects; the turning point of his vision and academic journey was assuming the role of Team Captain of the Yildiz Solar Boat Team.

During his leadership, he spearheaded and named two large-scale engineering projects that defined his vision. In 2024, with Turkey's first hydrofoil solar-powered boat 'Çaka Bey', he achieved fourth place globally in the competition held in Sardinia, Italy; followed by a successful performance at Teknofest Mavi Vatan with 'Preveze', his team's first autonomous surface vessel. Continuing to lead pioneering projects throughout his academic graduation, he laid a robust foundation for his engineering career with these interdisciplinary leadership experiences.

Çaka Bey — Hydrofoil Solar Boat

Condition Monitoring in Carbon Fiber Composites

A graduation project on a new condition monitoring method for carbon fiber reinforced composites.

Research conducted as a graduation project; first-place distinction stated in the CV.

Hydrofoil Strut Optimization

A TÜBİTAK 2209-A project focused on design optimization and strength analysis of a hydrofoil support element.

Scope
Hydrofoil support element, design optimization and strength evaluation.
Contribution
Tensile tests were conducted according to ASTM standards to determine the material conditions.

Solar energy integration simulation on a City Lines ferry

Feasibility and system analysis for solar energy integration on Istanbul Bosphorus passenger vessels.

Scope
Solar energy integration, feasibility and system assessment for passenger vessels.
Contribution
A cost feasibility report was prepared, and the study was simulated on City Lines ferries.
